How does music and sound help stress, fatigue, and burnout?During a sound bath, a skilled facilitator will create a balanced soundscape using healing frequencies to shift the brain from a busy thinking state into a calmer and more restful state. As the sound vibrations work through your body on a cellular level, they help regulate your nervous system and allow you to experience deep relaxation and less stress. Whether through passive listening or active music-making, such as drumming or singing, both approaches lower stress hormones and boost focus, creativity, and connection. Research shows that even a single session may have a lasting impact (improved mood, less anxiety, more mental clarity) for days after the experience. These activities can be seamlessly integrated into any workshop or training to support stress relief and resilience.

Is sound healing safe for everyone?Sound healing is non-invasive and generally safe for most people when provided by a skilled practitioner who understands how to apply the properties of sound, such as harmony and dissonance, in a way that is healing for the mind, body, and spirit. It’s particularly helpful for those wanting to feel less stress and fatigue. However, If you have certain medical conditions such as epilepsy, a pacemaker, or other health concerns, it is important to talk with your healthcare practitioner before participating in sound healing. These conditions may require extra precautions or may mean that sound healing is not suitable for you.

What is a "sound bath" and what can I expect? The term "sound bath" usually refers to an experience featuring singing bowls, or other resonant instruments, where sounds and vibrations create a full-body effect to promote relaxation and balance. You may also hear terms like sound healing, sound meditation, or sound therapy used interchangeably. All involve using the properties of music and sound to help restore the body. Your experience begins with gentle guidance into a relaxed state of awareness supported by the calming sounds of crystal and Tibetan singing bowls. As your mind and body settles and you begin to unwind from the busyness of the day, Brandy will create a gentle soundscape with sound healing instruments combined with more guided meditation and imagery as appropriate to your goals for the experience. At the end, you’ll have time to reflect on your experience and explore ways to continue using music and sound meditation to manage stress, fatigue, and burnout. For longer sessions, we may include more time for reflection and incorporate art and/or movement. Note that you don’t have to lie down, close your eyes, or be still during the sound bath. You’re encouraged to pay attention to what your body needs and what feels safe for you. Many participants choose to sit, keep their eyes open, and/or gently move their bodies during the session. Our virtual sound baths follow the same structure as our in-person sessions, with participants joining via Zoom using their own earbuds or headphones. This accessible format allows everyone to adjust the volume to their liking, creating a tailored experience that meets each individual’s comfort.
